Are you kidding me?  It's 9 minutes into the second period and Canada is up 4-0.  I think we should convert all the ice here to big ice.

Ooooh...11:25 into the 2nd and it's 4-1 Canada.

Ergh!  19:24 into the second and it's 4-2 Canada.

20 minutes to go...come on Canada...you need at least one more to tie this thing up on BIG ICE!

Here we go!  Vingt minutes.

Six minutes to go!  I typed out six in French and then realized that it's the same in English.

Hang in there...come on...two minutes...

4-2 Final for Canada!  First Championship on big ice since 1997 and a third straight Championship!  Good job lads.  Good job.

Previous head to head results.

It's on!  Canada vs Russia in the Finals today at 1230 on TSN.  Read up on it.  This game is far too close to call and I hope it's an exciting game.  These kids need the experience and this whole tournament on big ice has been awesome to watch.

Semi-final against the USA yesterday has left me a little shaken as it went to a shootout and fortunately we made it through.

Sorry, this should've been posted back on January 1st 2007.

You know a party is good when you leave and it's still going on and you still want to stay there. Just got back from Dan and Joanne's New Year Party and it's quite a ruckus. They're still singing and dancing over there right now. Lots of Wii. Lots of good conversation (as usual) and I met a top programmer from Next Level Games who worked on Super Mario Strikers who was very forth coming with advice on the game industry and in general what we (WP) can expect.

All in all an excellent way to bring in 2007 and I hope there are many more such parties in the future.

So Saddam Hussein is gone and the world is supposedly a safer place but did anybody stop and think about Roman Danylo?

Roman, as you may not know, is a comedian who has several trademark characters that he (poorly but comedically, well, his Tom Cruise is pretty good) portrays in his comedy routines on Comedy Inc.. One of his characters is (or should I say 'was'?) Saddam Hussein and a gang of Saddam impersonators.  Saddam and his impersonators have a variety of professions including talk show hosts and restaurant operators.

To imagine that Roman will now be left with a gaping hole in his repetoire that can only be filled by the portrayal (I demand a poor portrayal) of another dictator is hard to imagine. Even harder to imagine is what he'll fill that hole with as I'm pretty sure there's no way he can do a Kim Jong Ill...he's not that talented.

So I ask you Mr. Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki (of Iraq), what's Roman to do now?  Politics.

While there were a lot of movies out this year (and I manged to watch quite a few) and the tough task of ranking them comes down to me (as elected by planet Earth through a vote conducted just seconds ago). In this post I'll be ranking most major movies that were released in theatres. Not all movies released may make this listing, please let me know if I miss something big. Remember, these are in order of what I like and enjoyed the most.

Been hearing a lot about how you guys don't know how to walk on ice. Listen up, you don't walk on ice you slide on it. You can't expect the world to change or conform to you just because you want to walk or run in a particular way. You need to take shorter steps, slow down a bit, bend your knees a bit and slide. My advice is to take your kids to an ice rink and just have them run around a bit so they'll adjust for the future.

Although with global warming it's likely they'll never have to face snow again.

Not one of the major news stories but one that's substantially important was the Internet blackout that hit most of China and HK. Read up if you're interested, no time to chat about it at this time.

Wow, Actionscript 3.0 (Flex 2.0) is substantially different from Actionscript 2.0. I like AS 3 as it's more structured and ordered like the languages I usually deal with. Of course all this structure means porting over several thousand lines of old code ends up creating a delicious weekend of rewriting hundreds of lines of code in order to take advantage of new features.

Well, hopefully this project will see the light of day as it's a good one. Actually, this project is already live on one site that I work on and I'll be lending a version of this one to a friend shortly for use on his website so...production!

2 - 0!!! (vs Sweden)

Full Story here but it was an excellent tense game. Carey Price (the goalie) was a solid rock in this game and quite impressive, keep an eye out for him.
