Remember those two? Remember King of the Hill (it's still on and awesome)? They're made by the same people (remember?). It's good to see them again...they're funnai...although I'm glad that they switched to King of the Hill.

Hmmm...stay up and watch a movie and work on code...or stay up and play Counter Strike? I think I'll play some CS. I got into one map and it got down to one T, a teammate CS and myself. The T snipes my teammate and so I start walking (walking is quieter than running) around the map looking for the sniper. It's usually good to walk in such situations. Anyhow, I'm walking around and not seeing the guy but I'm hearing footsteps. So I know that he's one floor up but I don't want him to hear me so I keep walking. I guess the other team gets fed up of my good game play and decides to vote me out. Course, they need 5 votes and they only get two. Needless to say they're angry. I vow vengence and on the very next round I head shot three of them including the two that voted. VICTORY is sweeeeeeeeeet!

I haven't been sleeping at all over the last few weeks...the short and simple is that I keep waking up every few hours ever on alert because I actually have been on alert. Every hour I'll have an idea, or an important email, or an important message, or a cell phone call so I'm up in a second to handle it. This has turned into a regular routine with me waking up whether there anything or not...I might be becoming a Christian Bale in The Machinist (awesome movie). Right now I've finished handling a lot of important stuff and should be able to get a solid 8 hours of sleep...then it's a busy day of jetting around town getting a whole bunch of stuff done. So to ya'll a good night (or good morning if you're just waking up).

My post below about being uncool is based upon the number of iPods I see today. When I wear my gadgets and devices I hide them or use just one or two at a time. There have been occasions when I've "spread out" and taken up an entire bench. At any one time I may have my MSN Direct watch, palm pilot, DS, PSP, GPS, memory cards, and cell phone on me...and you wouldn't be able to tell that I have them all. So I must question the visibility of the iPod these days. It's being worn as a fashion accessory in a "me too" fashion that detracts from its statement about being unique (isn't that what the ads are about?). Rather the majority if just copying each other and intruding upon the culture that us geeks hold precious. As you enter you will find that things you own are worth less in the eyes of others. You displaying your iPod is simply more likely to get damaged and shows disregard for the device itself...what's the point of taking it jogging when you have to slow down to a walk so you can show it off and not damage it. Just conceal it and you can jog. So that's why I wrote the rant, once the crowd sees something cool everybody gets it and realizes that nobody is cool anymore. Do it for the function rather than the looks.

When did it happen? When did I become so uncool? Was it recent or overnight? I'd have to say it kinda snuck up on me. There was a time when I was the very image of cool. Walking into a room, foyer, atrium, or enclosed space of any kind people would look up and recognize that the definition of cool had bestowed upon them the gift of his presence. I'd be there with my slick mp3 player, cool camera phone, comfortable clothes, a look of "Who gives a damn? You do!", and the pungent stench of confidence. I was the unique cool, head to toe in Adidas with scuffed shoe toes with a hint of dust on the pants which told you that I wasn't no poser; I actually played in these clothes. Guys would stare with jealousy as their girlfriends would watch me slide past them with my steady paced cool groove mix just barely loud enough for them to make out what it was. The kids would point and the parents would tell them "Someday that could be you if you study and eat your vegetables." That's right, study...and eat your vegetables...and be cool...like me. That's what the people wanted and slowly over time that's what they've become. People bought cell phones. They used them to call me. People bought iPods. They used them to listen to my music. People bought clothes to match mine. They used them to try and look good. People bought shoes. Their feet still hurt. People went out and played the same games that I did. Their muscles started to ache. People tried to be me, but they failed. They tried harder, they failed harder. Then it dawned on them, I was cool to them, but uncool to me. They found out that when you're really cool, the music marches to the beat of your drum. {You are cool to me.}

"You can't have your cake and eat it too." You want to fight about it? Do you? Seriously? Who's gonna take my cake? Which one of you is sneaking around to get my cake? If you touch my cake I swear I will kick you into the sun...I kid you NOT! Really, why can I not have my cake and eat it too? I am currently (as I type this) planning on going downstairs and having cake with a tall glass of milk (cause short is well...short...I actually made fun of a girl a couple weeks back about her shortness...I even incorporated her name into the rhyme...it was really really mean but I'd been watching Scrubs and was feeling rather chipper...so beware...I make fun of you if you're short...or tall...or normal...I don't discriminate I make fun of ya'll). I will have my cake and I will eat it and I will drink it down with a glass of milk. Oh, maybe that's the condition...you can have your cake and eat it too...but only if it's with something else...well that sucks. I guess I always have to have it with milk or something...or water? Oh that's gross, water with cake? You might as well give up now. Oh yeah, I meant you should give up on cake cause you're obviously a loser.
