'Singin In The Rain? To Be Released At Last faith & hope can now officialy confirm that the next Mint Royale single will be their version of 'Singin In The Rain', as currently heard on the current Volkswagen GTi advert. Rumours surrounding the release have been appearing on the internet since the advert first ran in January with the sheer volume of posts on message boards (including the Mint Royale message board) prompting us to reconsider our plans and release the track. faith & hope are delighted to announce that the single will be released in conjunction with Direction Records, the highly successful Sony dance imprint, one of the many labels jostling to get involved. The single will be released sometime in June with Mint Royale's superb third album 'See You In The Morning' being released immediately afterwards. Meanwhile, 'wait for you', the first single to be taken from the album will be released next Monday (11th of April) as a download and limited vinyl release. If you can?t wait till June for the official 'Singin In The Rain' single you should check out the mixes of 'Wait For You' - there is a remix that bears an uncanny resemblance to a certain advert? but there are only 1000 vinyl copies so don?t miss it!
Official Website Song reference

A quick little vent about The Matrix. Yes, it was a very original film (well, kinda...there's another movie that escapes my mind but I liked that one quite a bit and it might've come before The Matrix). Anyhow, everybody went crazy over the one scene where Neo dodges the bullet by doing the limbo. Looking back on the technology available at that time...the brothers made it way more complex than they needed to make it. They didn't need still cameras, normal movie cameras would have sufficied and they could've used even fewer cameras since they admitted that computer animation was used in the scene. Utter waste of money if you ask me. That said, I will post my DVD purchasing schedule for the next couple of months tonight.
Content software firm Adobe Systems is to acquire the web development software player behind Flash web software, Macromedia, for an estimated all-stock transaction valued at ?2.6bn (US$3.4bn).
Full Article I'm very excited about this as both companies make solid products which already interconnect. Adobe can only make the products better! :)

Jimmy is on SNL!!!!
Posted at 05:27 pm Friday April 8th 2005
Starring Jimmy Fallon (Ben) and Drew Barrymore (Lindsey) (but I won't actually use the character names in the brackets). All I gotta say is WOW! Jimmy Fallon is pretty tops in my book but he went over the top in Fever Pitch. Drew Barrymore finally acts well (ok, she acts pretty well most of the time but I've never been a fan so just be happy that I'm giving this much to her). Ok, now the real review (enough babbling). Fever Pitch is a romantic (gasp) comedy (phew, good save) involving a man (Jimmy!), a woman (Drew?...yeah, Drew) and baseball (ewwww). The romance is between Jimmy and (you guessed it) baseball! There's also a little thing between him and Drew (ick). Ok Ok, fine, real thoughts. There is plenty of comedy in this film and it's smart and snappy. The smart and snappy comes from the Farrelly brothers who directed Me, Myself, and Irene (awesome), Shallow Hal (wicked), There's Something About Mary (he he), and of course Dumb and Dumber (classic). So you'd expect something as silly as those, init? However, the brothers do something spectacular and don't rely on slapstick humour. Instead, characters are built up through dialog and conversation (a movie...involving words? wow!). There are plenty of insights into each character especially Drew who has plenty of conversations with her friends regarding the newest man in her life. Jimmy is also built up substantially as his love for the Sox isn't immediately apparent but his dimensions build up once his love for the team are introduced. I was surprised by how little baseball plays a part in this film. There is plenty in this film at all times to show how the relationship between the two grows and how Drew and Jimmy go through the hardships of his...affliction. This is definetly the film that Jimmy was meant to act in and he does a superb job...again, I will give props to Drew who does manage to do a good job. Of course the Farrelly brothers did an excellent job with the entire film and managing to get all the live game footage that they did. Oh yeah, the scenes where they are in the stadium and at the games are actual games and at the end where they are on the field...that's the actual event and real game win. So...excellent movie, go see it. Jimmy has followed in the footsteps of Adam Sandler and put out an excellent romantic comedy (Spanglish...with Sandler..available on DVD right now).
